If you are familiar with our regular meeting notebooks the layout will be familiar to you. However, these notebooks provide a space for
How to use the Weekly Meetings Notebook
Each meeting notes page has space for the date, things to discuss, things coming up that week, notes from the meeting and follow up action points.
Things to Discuss: Before the meeting note down anything that you want to discuss in the top box. If there is a formal agenda use this to guide you, if not, just write done things that you might like to discuss in the meeting.
Coming Up this Week: Depending on how you use your weekly meetings you should use this space to note down things you might need to “report” or “update” on for the upcoming week. For example, if you usually talk about what you are currently working on, or what business development activities or meetings you have that week – then this is where you note it down as an aide-memoire to bring up in the meeting. Alternatively, if you are being guided by someone else on what your work for the week will be (or what is going on that week) and you get that update in the meeting you might use this section for additional notes during the meeting.
Notes: This section is for noting down key notes from the meeting. It is small so that you get into the habit of keeping it simple and only noting down the key points.
Action Points: This section can either be used during the meeting to note down key action points (separately from your notes). This is crucial where you are given action points during your weekly meeting. Alternatively, you can use it after the meeting after a period of reflection to note down next steps, this might be more relevant where the meetings are check-in or 1 to 1 style meetings. However, we expect that you will use this as a combination of both as you are likely to find that action points arise both during and after a meeting.
